The UK Minister of State for Investment, Lord Jason Stockwood, has paid an official visit to Azerbaijan to support a new phase of economic partnership and deepen cooperation between the two countries.

It was stated that this first official visit of the UK Minister of Investment to Baku is an important step in bilateral relations and makes a significant contribution to the development of the strategic partnership. The visit also took place against the backdrop of preparations for the next meeting of the UK-Azerbaijan Joint Intergovernmental Commission.
During the visit, Lord Jason Stockwood held high-level investment and financial discussions with key partners from Azerbaijan’s public and private sectors. The British minister held official meetings at the Ministry of Economy, the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ), and the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE).
As a result of the negotiations, investment and economic relations between the two countries have been further strengthened based on key common priorities. During the meetings, the expansion of the investment environment and the opening of new effective opportunities for deepening financial cooperation were the main focus of attention.
