On June 13, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Chief Executive Officer of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Ben Blake.
According to the information provided to elchi by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the development prospects of Azerbaijan-US multifaceted cooperation, energy, transport-transit, high technologies, and investment opportunities were discussed during the meeting.
In addition, they exchanged views on Azerbaijan’s significant role in strategic connections between Europe and Central Asia, port and logistics infrastructure, energy security issues, as well as regional transport projects.
The parties emphasized the special importance of the historic Washington summit held in 2025 in the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the US, stating that the meeting created an important foundation for expanding bilateral cooperation in new directions. In this context, the signing of the Strategic Partnership Charter for deepening cooperation in areas such as economy, energy, transport connections, high technologies, and security was noted with satisfaction. The work done within this framework was discussed.
Within the framework of regional transport projects, issues regarding the implementation of the TRIPP project, which will ensure unimpeded connection between the main part of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, were reviewed.
The parties also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
