Increasing productivity in the agrarian sector, improving irrigation and energy supply, applying innovative technologies, and implementing agrotechnical measures in a timely manner can only be realized through the coordinated work of all executive structures.
elchi reports with reference to Report that this was stated by Zeynal Naghdaliyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Department for Territorial and Organizational Issues, at a regional meeting dedicated to the discussion of the “State Program for the Development of Production and Processing of Agricultural, Fishery, and Aquaculture Products in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030”.
“The application of modern irrigation technologies, the improvement of on-farm irrigation infrastructure, the cleaning of existing canals, as well as the strengthening of awareness-raising activities in the field of water use are of particular importance,” Z. Naghdaliyev noted.
In his opinion, the effective use of water and land resources is among the main priorities of the state program:
“Today, the heads of executive authorities, entrepreneurs, and representatives of large farms participating in the meeting must pay special attention to the fulfillment of the following tasks arising from the state program.
I would especially like to address the heads of executive authorities and say, dear colleagues, that based on the state program, together with representatives of relevant agencies, you must determine the targets, target indicators, and outcome indicators for the main directions in the agrarian sector and ensure the development of a socio-economic development program for each district for 2026-2030. This should be based on the 2026-2030 state program, and at the same time, the state program should form the basis of your development and perspective plans.”
Z. Naghdaliyev also emphasized that all necessary steps must be taken to achieve the goals set for supporting entrepreneurship and local producers in the regions, building processing enterprises, silo and cold storage facilities, large-scale application of modern irrigation systems, and increasing productivity in agricultural production, especially in cotton and grain growing:
“First of all, these should be reflected in your perspective plans. I would like to bring to your attention that the main responsibility for carrying out organizational work related to the implementation of the state program, with the obligation to coordinate the activities of local executive authorities and all institutions included in this structure, that is, all local bodies of central executive authorities, is the most important task that falls on you.”
