Armenia changes the names of weapons purchased from foreign countries

“New weapons purchased from various countries bear traditional Armenian names that are not prohibited in the contracts signed with the manufacturer”.

elchi reports that the Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Edvard Asryan, stated this during a briefing with journalists in response to a question about why new weapons produced in different countries are being replaced with Armenian names and whether this is prohibited.

“We have contracts with manufacturers, and there is no clause in those contracts stating that we do not have the right to change the names of the purchased weapons,” Asryan noted.

It should be recalled that during the military parade held in Yerevan on May 28, weapons purchased from various countries were presented with Armenian names. However, the names of the countries from which the weapons were obtained were not mentioned.
