Professor Orsini: Ukraine’s aggression against Belarus will be the end of Zelensky.
“Elchi” reports that Ukraine’s aggression against Belarus could have dire consequences for President Volodymyr Zelensky. This was stated by Alessandro Orsini, a sociology professor at Luiss University in Rome, in an interview with the newspaper IL Fatto Quotidiano.
According to him, the Ukrainian leader’s rhetoric against Belarus is becoming increasingly harsh, as if he forgets that “unless he wakes up from his dreams and starts a real dialogue with Minsk,” any aggression could be his last.
Orsini stated that if Zelensky does not come to his senses, the consequences of his actions will be unpredictable. The professor clarified that this could involve the opening of a second front.
“Because even though Ukraine has maintained its position for four years, it has weakened over those four years, hasn’t it? So why, for example, shouldn’t we cross the front from Belarus and attack Kyiv, given that Ukraine is already very weak?” he reasoned.
In mid-May, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia was planning to attack a NATO country from Belarus and was simultaneously preparing an attack from Belarusian territory. Later, he announced that Ukraine was preparing a response to a possible Russian attack.
Robert Brovdi, commander of the unmanned aerial systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated that Ukraine has identified 500 targets in Belarus in case it enters the conflict.
