Using websites that operate under the guise of state structures and request the entry of personal or bank card information carries serious risks.
“Elchi” reports this citing the State Tax Service (STS) under the Ministry of Economy.
The STS states that recently, information has been widely shared on social media platforms regarding a website registered abroad that offers the possibility of paying tax debts under preferential terms and utilizes visual designs belonging to official state structures.
The State Tax Service brings to the attention of citizens that information regarding tax obligations and payments should only be obtained through official sources, and payment procedures should be carried out through official electronic services, banking institutions, or payment terminals provided for by legislation.
“Citizens are requested to be careful when encountering suspicious situations, not to provide their personal information to unknown parties, and to rely only on official sources. We note that the State Tax Service does not, under any circumstances, ask for citizens’ bank card details through online resources,” the statement says.
