The summer season (summer solstice) will arrive in Azerbaijan on June 21 at 12:24:26 Baku time.
According to the information provided to “Elchi” by the Department of Astrophysics of the Faculty of Physics at Baku State University, at this time, the astronomical summer season will begin in the Northern Hemisphere, and the winter season will begin in the Southern Hemisphere.
During this event, the smallest angle will be formed between the Earth’s axis of rotation and the direction of the Sun. As a result, the Sun will reach its highest point in the sky for the year. In Baku, the Sun will be at its maximum height above the horizon (73.1°) at noon that day.
That day is when the longest day and shortest night of the year are observed. The length of the day will be 15 hours, 03 minutes, and 24 seconds, and the length of the night will be 8 hours, 56 minutes, and 36 seconds. The duration of the summer season will be 93 days, 15 hours, 40 minutes, and 42 seconds.
