President Ilham Aliyev has received the US Assistant Secretary of State

On June 1, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by US Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey Pyatt.

elchi reports that the head of state expressed his gratitude to Geoffrey Pyatt for participating in the exhibitions held within the framework of “Baku Energy Week” and the official opening ceremony of the “Baku Energy Forum”.

Expressing satisfaction with the letter sent by US President Donald Trump to this event, President Ilham Aliyev stated that this approach and partnership are highly valued and expressed his gratitude to the head of the US state for this.

Stating that our bilateral relations have been developing successfully in recent times, the head of state touched upon the importance of the Strategic Partnership Charter signed between Azerbaijan and the US, as well as the creation of working groups for the development of cooperation in various fields based on this Charter, and emphasized that the first meeting of the Azerbaijan-US Economic Dialogue will be held. In this regard, it was stated that the visit of the delegation led by Geoffrey Pyatt to our country creates a good opportunity to discuss the prospects of cooperation.

The head of state also touched upon the importance of the documents signed within the framework of “Baku Energy Week”.

Geoffrey Pyatt conveyed the greetings of US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to President Ilham Aliyev.

The head of state expressed his gratitude for the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to Donald Trump and Marco Rubio.

The guest emphasized that the fact that Donald Trump sent a letter to “Baku Energy Week” shows how important the event is for the United States of America.

Geoffrey Pyatt also said that this event demonstrates President Ilham Aliyev’s leadership role in terms of holding discussions on the state of energy markets.

During the conversation, it was emphasized that “Baku Energy Week” is a successful platform for exchanging views on global energy issues, as well as discussing the prospects of cooperation between the world’s leading energy companies, government agencies, investors, and industry experts.

At the meeting, it was noted that Azerbaijan-US relations have entered a new stage of development as a result of the efforts of the heads of state of both countries.

During the conversation, issues of mutual interest were discussed.
