The Iranian authorities have begun preparations for the funeral of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who died during US and Israeli attacks.
“Elchi” reports that Iranian state media has released information regarding this matter.
It was stated that a special coordination center has been established for the ceremony, which had been postponed for months due to wartime conditions. Officials report that numerous participants from both within the country and abroad are expected.
Mohsen Mahmudi, head of the Tehran Islamic Propagation Coordination Council, stated that coordination is being ensured among all state institutions regarding the organization of the funeral.
“A special center has been created to manage preparations for the funeral. Various agencies are continuing their preparation and planning work,” Mahmudi said.
It should be noted that Ali Khamenei lost his life in the first phase of the US and Israeli attacks that began on February 28. Following this, the country’s leadership passed to his son, Mojtaba Khamenei. Although memorial ceremonies were held in various regions of the country in April to mark the 40th day of Khamenei’s passing, the official funeral ceremony did not take place due to security reasons.
It was stated that the exact date of the ceremony will be announced once security and organizational preparations are completed.
