Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, has visited the Masalli district.
“Elchi” reports that during the visit, Leyla Aliyeva visited the Masalli Juma Mosque, one of the district’s historical and religious-cultural monuments, and became closely acquainted with the mosque’s history and architectural features.
It was noted that the Juma Mosque, located in the center of Masalli city, was built in 1846 with the financial support of city residents and local philanthropists. During the years of independence, the mosque was restored and resumed its activities as a place of worship. The mosque, which was later renovated by the state, was included in the list of immovable historical and cultural monuments of local importance in 2001.
In the end, a “Holy Quran” was presented to Leyla Aliyeva.
