New fines are being determined in Azerbaijan.

“Elchi” reports with reference to Oxu.az that the issue in question is reflected in the draft amendments proposed to the Code of Administrative Offenses.

According to the draft, officials shall be fined in the amount of three thousand manats for concluding an employment contract or continuing labor relations with a person who is a drug addict according to a medical examination (medical check-up) report, for types of professions and positions where activity restrictions are provided for drug addicts as determined by the body (institution) defined by the relevant executive authority.

Also, officials will be fined in the amount of one thousand manats for hiring an employee for a relevant profession or position without a medical certificate regarding the employee’s health in cases provided for by the Labor Code, as well as without a medical examination (medical check-up) report for professions and positions where activity restrictions are provided for drug addicts.

Furthermore, for providing false and/or distorted information regarding the cutting of bushes subject to notification procedures, individuals shall be fined in the amount of five hundred manats, officials in the amount of three thousand manats, and legal entities in the amount of five thousand manats.

The draft states that for the failure to submit or incorrect submission of financial leasing activity reports to the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan by persons carrying out financial leasing activities (excluding banks, local branches of foreign banks, and non-bank credit organizations) in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Financial Leasing”, officials shall be fined in the amount of one thousand to one thousand five hundred manats, and legal entities in the amount of three thousand to five thousand manats.
