Restructuring announced in April
Leaked information about the upcoming layoffs last month prompted Meta executives to announce preparations for an approximately 10% reduction before the Q1 2026 earnings report. The restructuring, detailed in an internal memorandum issued by the company in April, involves the layoff of approximately 8,000 employees and leaving approximately 6,000 vacant positions unfilled. Employees were notified of their layoffs on Wednesday.
