58 thousand families in Azerbaijan have become homeowners through the mortgage mechanism.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by Anar Karimov, First Deputy Minister of Finance of Azerbaijan, at the “A New Deal for Housing Finance” session held within the framework of WUF13.
He stated that housing policy is not only about buildings, but also about people’s future, social inclusion, and equal opportunities.
Anar Karimov noted that approximately 3 billion people worldwide may need housing in the next 20 years, and therefore, it is essential for housing finance to be accessible, inclusive, and financially sustainable.
According to him, Azerbaijan has formed a housing finance system over the last 20 years that combines social inclusion and financial sustainability.
The First Deputy Minister of Finance stated that the Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan has become one of the main institutional pillars of the country’s domestic housing finance system.
Anar Karimov emphasized that to date, more than 58,000 mortgage loans and 9,000 housing sales through the rental mechanism have been financed through the fund.
