Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN Human Settlements Programme will continue

Azerbaijan is carrying out effective cooperation with the UN Human Settlements Programme, and this partnership will continue.

“Elchi” reports that President Ilham Aliyev stated this while receiving UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed.

The head of state noted that Azerbaijan is engaged in effective cooperation with the UN Human Settlements Programme, adding that our country will continue its partnership with this Programme in the future and will remain active in the work of other sessions of the World Urban Forum.

During the meeting, it was stated that the restoration and construction work carried out by Azerbaijan in the liberated territories in the post-conflict period serves as a model for other post-conflict regions, and it was emphasized that sharing our country’s experience within the UN framework would be beneficial for other nations.

It was recalled that Azerbaijan’s “ASAN xidmət” model was awarded the UN Public Service Award, as well as the UN special award for the development of public services through the application of digital governance, and it was noted that “ASAN xidmət” is being implemented as a successful practice in various countries across Africa and Asia.
