Google has introduced new artificial intelligence features that will fundamentally change internet search habits. The company is reshaping its traditional search engine, the Gemini AI assistant, and other services to meet the needs of the artificial intelligence era.
elchi reports that the goal of the new era is for users to perform fewer searches while obtaining more effective results.
Among the introduced innovations, a new search bar capable of conducting research on the internet on behalf of the user and a new Gemini mode that can operate autonomously for a certain period stand out.
The search engine is being completely updated
Google has long been moving away from the approach of providing only lists of blue links in search results.
The updated search system, powered by the company’s new Gemini 3.5 Flash model, represents the biggest step in the transition from traditional search to artificial intelligence.
The new search area allows users to search using longer and more natural sentences, as if they were talking to ChatGPT or Gemini.
Users can now create “agents” that will follow or research specific topics in the Google search engine. Google stated that this feature will make it easier to track and monitor tasks that require time, such as house hunting or keeping up with new clothing collections. The company also states that it can create custom visual responses and micro-apps that combine the user’s location, weather information, and apps connected to their Google account.
“Spark” mode for Gemini
Google has introduced a new mode called “Spark” to distinguish the AI-powered Gemini from the main search engine.
Spark, which can run in the background, performs long-term tasks such as monitoring credit card statements and email inboxes for important updates, creating summaries, or managing to-do lists.
This feature, which can reference content in apps like Google Docs, Gmail, and Slides, will support third-party applications in the future.
Spark, which has also been added to the Gemini app on Mac computers, can work with local files, and users can monitor this agent from their phones thanks to a new feature called “Android Halo.”
The artificial intelligence agent remains active even when the computer is turned off or the phone is locked.
