A meeting was held between members of the Milli Majlis Committee on Regional Affairs and a delegation led by Adil Karaismailoğlu, Chairman of the Committee on Public Works, Reconstruction, Transportation and Tourism of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM), who is visiting our country to participate in the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku.

Siyavuş Novruzov, Chairman of the Committee on Regional Affairs, welcomed the guests and stated that the relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are built on common history, national-moral values, and principles of unbreakable brotherhood. It was noted that the high-level relations between the heads of state provide a significant impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation in all areas. The committee chairman also emphasized that the political and moral support provided by Türkiye to Azerbaijan during the 44-day Patriotic War is always highly appreciated by our people, noting that the brotherly relations between our countries are an example to the world.
Speaking about the importance of the WUF13 event held in Baku these days, Siyavuş Novruzov noted that Türkiye has rich experience in the field of urban planning and regional development, and emphasized the importance of exchanging experience in this direction.
Adil Karaismailoğlu, Chairman of the TBMM Committee on Public Works, Reconstruction, Transportation and Tourism, expressed his gratitude for the hospitality shown and emphasized that the principle of “one nation, two states” forms the basis of the relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye. The guest noted that the WUF13 event held in Baku was organized at a high level, stating that such prestigious international events hosted by Azerbaijan are an indicator of our country’s growing influence and the importance it attaches to international cooperation.
Highly appreciating the reconstruction and modern urban planning works carried out in Karabakh and East Zangezur, the committee chairman also touched upon the importance of the Zangezur Corridor and the Middle Corridor, stating that these projects serve to further expand relations between the countries of the region.
Nurlan Hasanov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Regional Affairs, deputies Elman Mammadov, Kamran Bayramov, Vasif Gafarov, head of the Turkey-Azerbaijan friendship group Şamil Ayrım, and TBMM members Cem Avşar, Hüseyin Yıldız, Hulusi Şentürk, and Mervan Gül, who spoke at the meeting, emphasized that Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations are developing based on the principles of brotherhood and strategic alliance, and discussed the importance of further expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation.
