In accordance with the decree of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, restoration and reinforcement works have begun on the Altiagach–Khizi highway, where a landslide occurred as a result of heavy rainfall.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads (AAYDA).
According to the information, a sufficient number of personnel, special equipment, and machinery have been deployed to the area to bring the road to a safe and stable condition. Works are underway to restore the deformed sections caused by the landslide, clear soil masses, and reinforce the roadbed.
The main goal is to ensure the safety of vehicle traffic and achieve the full restoration of transport links in the region. At the same time, additional preventive measures are being taken to minimize the risks posed by rainy weather conditions.
According to the presidential decree, it is planned to eliminate the consequences caused by rain and flood waters not only on the Altiagach–Khizi road but on a total of 25 highways across the country. Within this framework, the restoration of damaged road infrastructure, the repair of bridges and culverts, as well as the strengthening of protective measures in dangerous areas will be carried out.
