Within the framework of the transport provision for the Thirteenth Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13), temporary special traffic lanes have been organized on a number of streets and avenues in the capital.
The Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) informed elchi that 5.9 – “lane for public transport vehicles” special road signs indicating this have been installed in those locations, and the temporary lanes marked with this road sign come into effect starting today.
The temporary special lanes cover Heydar Aliyev Avenue – Airport Highway, Abbasgulu aga Bakikhanov, Yusif Safarov, Mehdi Abbasov, Mikayil Aliyev, and Mikayil Mushfig streets.
According to the legislation, these lanes have the status of bus lanes, and other vehicles entering them during the validity period will be subject to fines.
After the event ends, the signs will be removed, and all vehicles will be able to enter the temporarily created lanes again.
