Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to sue the American newspaper “The New York Times” (NYT) over an article regarding Palestinians.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated on the website of the Israeli Prime Minister’s office.
“Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar have ordered a lawsuit against The New York Times for publishing one of the most horrific and distorted lies ever printed,” the statement noted.
The office emphasized that the article in question was written by NYT journalist Nicholas Kristof.
“His latest article was published on May 11: In an op-ed titled ‘The Silence Responding to the Rape of Palestinians,’ Kristof details the systematic sexual abuse of Palestinian prisoners in Israel,” the office stated.
He claims that 14 Palestinian men and women told him they were subjected to sexual torture by soldiers, prison guards, security forces, and settlers. According to him, some of these testimonies are corroborated by relatives, lawyers, and other witnesses.
