MES conducted another simulated fire drill – VIDEO

A drill was held in a multi-story residential building owned by “Shalala” MTK, located at 2A Faiq Yusifov Street, Narimanov district, Baku, on the initiative of the State Fire Control Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and with the participation of the State Fire Protection Service.

This was reported to elchi by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

It was stated that the drill was conducted with a simulated fire alarm signal to assess the ability of fire equipment to approach the residential building and the water reservoir, as well as to evaluate the overall operational conditions for firefighting in the area.

During the drill, it was determined that fire trucks could not freely approach the residential building or the fire water reservoir due to irregular parking of private vehicles and artificial obstacles. Furthermore, it was identified that the building was not fully equipped with primary fire extinguishing equipment, existing internal fire hydrants were not fully assembled, the automatic fire alarm system was not installed throughout the entire area, and the electrical system did not meet the requirements of the “Rules for the Installation of Electrical Installations.”

Verbal and written instructions were given to the persons responsible for the fire safety of the building regarding the elimination of the noted deficiencies, and at the same time, awareness-raising conversations were held with the residents of the residential building regarding the provision of fire safety. It was noted that during fires and other emergency situations, for the unimpeded entry of special-purpose vehicles into building courtyards, their rapid deployment for combat readiness, effective conduct of operations, as well as convenient use of water reservoirs and hydrants, vehicles must be parked only in designated places, maintaining distance from each other, and ensuring the possibility of free passage for other vehicles.
