Failure of drivers to comply with safety rules during emergency stops is particularly noteworthy among the causes of recorded severe traffic accidents.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the Main State Traffic Police Department.
“Considering the urgency of the problem, we once again bring to the attention of drivers that during an emergency stop, necessary safety measures must be taken, including setting up a warning triangle, turning on hazard lights, or placing a flashing red light. In the event of a traffic accident, if the movement of other vehicles is impossible, the roadway must be cleared after making notes that allow for the documentation of the incident,” the statement noted.
“We remind you that the warning triangle should be placed at the rear of the vehicle, and if necessary, at the front as well, in the same lane, at a distance of at least 30 meters from the vehicle, so that drivers of approaching vehicles can see it from a sufficient distance. In residential areas where traffic is intense, the warning triangle can be placed at a closer distance or directly on the vehicle. A portable flashing red light can also be used for this purpose,” the statement added.
