Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a phone conversation with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
elchi reports that Dar briefed Wang on the latest developments in the Iran-US talks mediated by his country. Dar thanked China for supporting Pakistan’s efforts and expressed hope to strengthen coordination and cooperation with China in maintaining regional peace and stability.
During the conversation, Wang reiterated China’s principles and position, and praised Pakistan’s efforts to promote talks between the US and Iran and to extend the temporary ceasefire. Wang stated that China hopes Pakistan will maintain its credibility, further strengthen its mediation efforts, and contribute to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the restoration of peace in the region as soon as possible. Wang also stated that China will continue to support Pakistan’s mediation efforts and will make its own contributions in this regard.
