Findiqan village of Khizi provided with drinking water – PHOTO

A drinking water project has been implemented in Findiqan village of Khizi district, and an opening ceremony was held to mark the completion of the project.

This was reported to “Elchi” by the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan (ADSEA).

The opening ceremony was attended by Ilgar Gulmammadov, Deputy Chairman of the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan, Khazar Aslanov, Head of the Khizi District Executive Power, Zakir Guliyev, Chairman of the Board of the Regional Water Melioration Service under ADSEA, representatives of the Agency, and village residents.

Within the framework of the project, to establish a centralized water supply system in Findiqan village of Khizi district, the existing water reservoir was repaired, the intra-village network was reconstructed, and a new 4.4 km long water pipeline was laid. In addition, the valve chamber and the guard station building were overhauled. To ensure accurate metering of water supplied to the population and to promote water conservation, a total of 87 water meters were installed for subscribers.

The newly created water supply network will be able to fully meet the daily water needs of the 542 residents of Findiqan village.

It should be noted that water supply services are provided to 2,132 subscribers in 11 settlements across the Khizi district.

Furthermore, design and construction works are planned for the reconstruction of the water supply system of Shorabad village in 2026–2027. At the same time, repair and restoration works are planned for the city of Khizi and the settlement of Altıağac in 2026.

Village residents considered the launch of the project on the 103rd anniversary of Heydar Aliyev as a particularly significant event.
