A firefighting plane has crashed in the Lublin Voivodeship in eastern Poland, and the pilot of the aircraft has died.
elchi reports, citing local police, that RIA Novosti provided information on the matter.
According to the report, the plane crash occurred in the village of Osuchy near the town of Bilgoraj. The crashed “Dromader” type aircraft was participating in extinguishing a large-scale forest fire.
According to preliminary police information, the tragedy occurred due to adverse weather conditions. The causes and details of the incident are being investigated.
The agency reports that the fire in the Lublin Voivodeship has already spread to an area of more than 250 hectares. Rescuers, military personnel, and rescue aviation have been involved in extinguishing the flames.
