New allowances and privileges have been established for diplomats called up for military service.
According to elchi, this is reflected in the new articles 13.14-1 and 13.14-2 proposed to the Law “On Diplomatic Service,” which were discussed at today’s meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Ties.
According to the draft, a diplomatic service employee whose service is terminated due to being called up for active military or alternative service will be paid an allowance in the amount of 3 times their average monthly state salary. With the exception of the liquidation of the diplomatic service body, persons who served in a diplomatic position before being called up for active military service will be appointed to their previous or an analogous position in that body if they apply to hold their previous diplomatic position no later than 60 calendar days after being released from military service.
