Apple has agreed to pay a total of $250 million to settle a lawsuit accusing it of misleading users about new artificial intelligence features and capabilities.
“Elchi” reports that in the settlement filed in a California federal court on Tuesday, Apple did not admit to any wrongdoing.
However, the company resolved the claims, which were filed last year and turned into a broad class-action lawsuit, with this agreement.
The lawsuit accused Apple of false advertising regarding AI features, including improvements to the Siri voice assistant, which it calls “Apple Intelligence.”
As part of the payments, users who purchased an iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 between June 2024 and March 2025 will receive compensation ranging from $25 (twenty-five) to $95 (ninety-five).
An Apple spokesperson stated that the lawsuit focused only on the availability of two additional features among the numerous features offered within Apple Intelligence.
The spokesperson said, “We have resolved this matter to focus on providing our users with the most innovative products and services.”
