An event titled “Heydar Aliyev is the author of the social development strategy” dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev has been held.

It was noted that the event, jointly organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population and the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), was attended by Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev, Deputy Chairman of YAP and Head of the Central Office Tahir Budagov, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Labor and Social Policy Musa Guliyev, Chairman of the YAP Yasamal District Organization Bakhtiyar Nabiyev, member of the YAP Council of Veterans, academician Misir Mardanov, and others. Participants of the event, held at the DOST Inclusive Development and Creativity Center under the Ministry, viewed an exhibition consisting of photos reflecting different periods of the life and activities of the prominent statesman Heydar Aliyev, as well as handicrafts dedicated to the Great Leader by the Center’s beneficiaries.
Anar Aliyev spoke and highlighted the unparalleled historical services of National Leader Heydar Aliyev for the establishment and development of the modern independent Azerbaijani state. He stated that the Great Leader identified the provision of citizen welfare as one of the main directions of state policy. Between 1993 and 2003, more than 60 documents were signed by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to ensure social development. During that period, the average monthly amount of pensions and allowances increased 8 times, and the average monthly salary increased more than 6 times. As a result of the wise and far-sighted policy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev being continued and developed at a high level by our esteemed President Mr. Ilham Aliyev, our country has achieved great successes and won a magnificent historical Victory. Important steps are also being taken in the social sphere, and with the instructions of the head of state, 5 major social reform packages have been implemented over the last 7 years, leading to significant increases in social payments.
The activities of the New Azerbaijan Party, founded by the Great Leader, are also based on the purpose of serving the people and the state, and the Party, chaired by President Mr. Ilham Aliyev, provides great services in the processes of dynamic and comprehensive development of our country.
Tahir Budagov stated that National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who returned to power in 1993 at the insistent demand of the people, first of all managed to overcome the deep socio-economic crisis in the country, and while ensuring economic stability, he also laid the foundation for fundamental reforms in the social sphere. In the first Constitution of independent Azerbaijan, prepared under the leadership of the Great Leader and adopted in 1995, the provision of a decent standard of living for Azerbaijani citizens was established as the supreme goal of the state. During the leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the institutional foundations of social policy were created in our country, and all segments of society were covered by state care. The idea of the head of state, Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party Mr. Ilham Aliyev, that “The welfare and interests of the Azerbaijani citizen are at the center of our policy” forms the basis of social-oriented policy. The consistent implementation of large-scale social packages is a clear example of this policy.
Noting that social-oriented policy is one of the main directions in the YAP program, Tahir Budagov stated that the Party, remaining loyal to the ideas of the Great Leader, actively participates in the implementation of the principles of social justice, citizen welfare, and a strong state.
Musa Guliyev emphasized that National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the author of the social development strategy of the independent Azerbaijani state, always showed special attention and care for the social protection of the population. He spoke about the work carried out to create the country’s social legislative base based on the instructions of the Great Leader. Misir Mardanov highlighted the services rendered by National Leader Heydar Aliyev for the development of the social sphere and the national education system.
Afterwards, YAP membership cards were presented to 64 employees of the Ministry. It was noted that the number of employees who are YAP members within the Ministry system is nearly 5,500. The employees newly admitted to the Party expressed their gratitude for the high trust and confidence shown in them.
An inclusive concert program consisting of performances by the beneficiaries of the DOST Inclusive Development and Creativity Center was presented.
