MES has appealed to the public regarding unstable weather conditions

The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) has appealed to the public in connection with the expected rainy and unstable weather conditions in some areas.

This was reported by the MES.

It was stated that until May 7, intensive rainfall is expected in separate regions, short-term floods are predicted in some mountain rivers, lightning is expected, and intermittent strong winds are forecasted in a number of areas.

Taking the above into account, the MES once again reminds of the relevant safety rules.

Thus, in order to protect against floods and inundations that can be caused by intensive rainfall, it is recommended to stay away from flood-prone areas and, if faced with this danger, to immediately climb to a nearby high ground.

At the same time, to protect against lightning-related dangers, it is necessary to disconnect electrical appliances from the network, not to talk on the phone (landline, mobile, payphone, etc.), not to approach power lines, lightning rods, gutters, and antennas while outdoors, not to take shelter under tall trees and choose relatively low-lying places for this purpose, and if in a car, to stop moving, roll up the windows, and wait for the lightning to end.

Also, during strong winds, it is recommended to stay away from light structures and temporary buildings, buildings and billboards, and not to stand under electric poles and wires or tall trees.

In addition, considering the difficulties caused by strong winds in extinguishing fires, fire safety rules must be strictly observed in windy weather conditions. Also, small vessel users should keep in mind that going out to sea is prohibited in such weather conditions.
