The “Baku Marathon 2026”, held on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, has started.
According to “Elchi”, 25,000 participants have registered for the race, which is held under the slogan “Win the Wind”.
In addition to Azerbaijani citizens, representatives from the USA, Germany, Great Britain, China, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, and other countries are competing for victory in the marathon.
Being held for the ninth time, the “Baku Marathon” is organized for the first time at the full distance of 42 kilometers. The race started from the State Flag Square, and the participants will reach the finish line in the “Sea Breeze” area along the designated route.
