US President Donald Trump has decided to withdraw 5,000 troops from military bases in Germany in connection with the war with Iran.
“Elchi” reports that “Politico” has released this information citing the Pentagon.
It is reported that approximately 33,000 US troops will remain in Germany.
Trump, who has repeatedly complained that NATO countries are not helping to strike Iran, has been warning for months that the US would withdraw its troops from Europe.
Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell stated that US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth ordered the troop withdrawal after reviewing the number of US forces in Europe:
“The Secretary of Defense has ordered the withdrawal of approximately 5,000 troops from Germany. We expect the withdrawal to be completed within the next six to twelve months.”
