Delay in deduction from account during NFC payment… – Official

In some cases during NFC payments, funds may not be deducted from bank cards immediately, but with a certain delay. This is due to the deferred authorization principle applied in public transport.

elchi reports that this was stated in a joint announcement by “K Group” LLC (“BakiKart”), “Baku Metropolitan” CJSC, and “BakuBus” LLC.

“For this reason, payments for trips made are not deducted from cards immediately but at certain time intervals, and in some cases, they may appear to users as consecutive or repeated deductions. In reality, each trip is processed separately and correctly.

The currently observed cases of ‘consecutive fund deductions’ are related to the delayed processing of payments for trips made on April 24, 25, 26, and 27. In other words, the amounts currently being deducted from the card do not belong to the current day but to the trips used on the mentioned dates.

Passengers encountering such situations are advised to check the transaction history of their bank cards.

The system only deducts funds for trips actually used, and in no case does any additional or excess amount get deducted.

The operator of the project is “BakiKart”. If any questions arise regarding the topic, you can contact “BakiKart” directly. An operational investigation will be conducted, and additional information will be provided,” the statement noted.
