Pezeshkian: Naval blockade is a continuation of military operations against Iran

Iran is exercising patience regarding the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz by the US.

“Elchi” reports that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian wrote about this on his “X” social media account.

“The world has witnessed Iran’s peaceful nature,” he stated. The President added that what is currently happening under the guise of a naval blockade is a continuation of military operations against Iran: “The continuation of this unjust approach is intolerable.”

It should be recalled that on February 28, the US and Israel launched military operations against Iran, and airstrikes were carried out on a number of cities. On that same day, as a result of the strikes, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed. In response, Iran launched missile strikes on Israeli territory and attacked US military bases in Persian Gulf countries.

Iran, the US, and their allies reached a ceasefire agreement on the night of April 8. Trump later extended the ceasefire indefinitely.

The parties held negotiations in Pakistan to resolve the conflict, but the first round held on April 11-12 did not yield any results.

To exert pressure on Tehran, the US has blockaded Iranian ports and passage through the Strait of Hormuz. In turn, Iran has announced a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz for ships heading to the Persian Gulf. The dynamically changing situation in the region has caused a global energy crisis.
