In our society, not only exam results but also the upbringing of children and their psychological-emotional development issues should be discussed.
elchi reports that the Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev, stated this during his speech at the conference titled “Sustainable Development: Family, Women, and Children Policy.”
The Minister said that when looking at educational achievements, two groups of development are discussed: “The first group is training and results. It is easier to measure these and determine them through some kind of exam. The second point is the child’s upbringing. Upbringing issues are more complex. It is harder to measure upbringing. In this regard, it is important that these two points are carried out in parallel in Azerbaijani schools and that upbringing issues are prioritized. High results can be achieved in the formation of values and a value-based education system.”
Emin Amrullayev noted that the role of the family in the process of raising children is greater than that of the school: “The main issue is the values that the family passes on to their child. It is very important for parents to realize their responsibility and contribute to the development of the young generation by working together with the school and the teacher.
The number of books at home, the parents’ attitude towards books, showing interest in the child’s learning process, and discussing existing problems are the parents’ obligations. The implementation of these simple actions is an important process that affects the child’s development and education.”
The Minister also said that opportunities should be created for women to receive an education. Thus, the guarantee of the future depends on educated mothers.
