Based on observations from recent years, weather conditions in May are more variable compared to previous years. Differences in temperature and pressure arise as a result of the alternating influence of warm and cold atmospheric fronts on our territory.
In May of this year, the average monthly temperature is expected to be close to the climatic norm, and in some areas, slightly higher. Although the amount of monthly precipitation is expected to be mainly close to the climatic norm, there is a possibility of intensive rainfall on certain days.
In the first days of the month, short-term precipitation is expected in some mountainous and foothill regions. From the second half of the first ten-day period, it is expected that precipitation will intensify in most regions.
In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the average monthly air temperature is expected to be 18–20°C, which is close to or slightly above the climatic norm. At night, the temperature will be 12–17°C, during the day 20–25°C, and on some days 27–32°C. The monthly precipitation amount is expected to be close to the climatic norm (18–21 mm).
In Nakhchivan city, Julfa, Ordubad, Sadarak, Shahbuz, and Sharur districts, the average monthly air temperature is expected to be 18–22°C, which is close to or slightly above the climatic norm. At night, the air temperature will be 11–16°C, during the day 20–25°C, and on some days 30–35°C. The monthly precipitation amount is expected to be close to the climatic norm (33–62 mm).
In Khankendi, Shusha, Khojaly, Khojavand, Aghdam, Goranboy, Dashkasan, and Gadabay districts, the average monthly air temperature will be 14–18°C, which is close to the climatic norm. At night, the air temperature is expected to be 7–12°C, during the day 15–20°C, and on some days 25–30°C. The monthly precipitation amount will be close to the climatic norm (68–122 mm).
In Jabrayil, Kalbajar, Gubadli, Lachin, and Zangilan districts, the average monthly air temperature is expected to be 14–18°C, which is close to the climatic norm. At night, the air temperature will be 7–12°C, during the day 15–20°C, and on some days 25–30°C. The monthly precipitation amount is expected to be close to the climatic norm (52–103 mm).

In Balakan, Zagatala, Gakh, Shaki, Oghuz, Gabala, Ismayilli, Aghsu, Shamakhi, Siyazan, Shabran, Khizi, Guba, Khachmaz, and Gusar districts, the average monthly air temperature is expected to be 16–19°C, which is close to or slightly above the climatic norm. At night, the air temperature will be 11–16°C, during the day 20–25°C, and on some days 28–33°C, while in the mountains it will be 3–8°C at night and 15–20°C during the day.
