Trump: Russia should work on resolving the crisis in Ukraine, not in Iran

US President Donald Trump has stated that it is more important for him that Moscow focuses on resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict rather than the Iranian crisis.

“Elchi” reports that Trump said this to journalists at the White House following a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump mentioned that his conversation with his Russian counterpart went well and noted that it would be possible to find a solution to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine soon.

“We had a very good conversation… I think we will find a solution relatively soon. I hope so. He (Putin – ed.) told me he wants to help with the issue of uranium enrichment. I replied that I would prefer Russia to be involved in ending the war in Ukraine. That would be more important to me,” the head of the Washington administration said.

However, Trump noted that disagreements remain between the US and European countries regarding Ukraine.

“This concerns European countries more than NATO,” he clarified, adding that the conflicts in Ukraine and Iran could end at approximately the same time.
