Development of Azerbaijan-UAE cooperation in various fields discussed

On April 28, the second meeting of the Cooperation Committee on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was held in Baku.

According to the information provided to elchi by the MFA, the meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yalchin Rafiyev on behalf of Azerbaijan and Minister of State Saeed Al Hajeri on behalf of the UAE.

Within the framework of the committee’s work, a one-on-one meeting was held between Deputy Minister Y. Rafiyev and Minister of State S. Al Hajeri. Subsequently, an expanded meeting took place under the leadership of the co-chairs, with the participation of ambassadors from both countries and representatives of relevant government agencies. Based on the reports presented by the sub-committees, the development of cooperation across various fields was discussed.

During the meeting, the work carried out since the committee’s first meeting held in Abu Dhabi last November was reviewed, the results achieved were evaluated, and an exchange of views took place regarding priority directions, concrete initiatives, and joint projects for the upcoming period.

The co-chairs positively assessed the implementation process of the roadmap and work plans agreed upon during the committee’s first meeting and emphasized the importance of further deepening result-oriented cooperation. In addition, an agreement was expressed regarding the promotion of new initiatives for the upcoming period, the further improvement of existing mechanisms, and the strengthening of the institutional foundations of cooperation.

In addition to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting was attended by representatives from the Republic of Azerbaijan’s Ministries of Economy, Energy, Justice, Defense, Internal Affairs, Digital Development and Transport, Science and Education, Culture, and Agriculture, as well as the State Tourism Agency, the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, SOCAR, the Azerbaijan Investment Holding, and AZCON Holding.
