Assistant to the President and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration (PA) Hikmat Hajiyev met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia Juana Castro Santamaria, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan.

The Assistant to the President stated that he had productive discussions with Ms. Santamaria:
“The current level of political dialogue between our countries is promising. There is significant potential to expand cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, culture and humanitarian affairs, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.”
Emphasizing that both Azerbaijan and Colombia suffer from the landmine problem, H. Hajiyev noted that they discussed opportunities for cooperation and exchange of experience in this field with the Colombian Deputy Foreign Minister.
“We express our gratitude to the Colombian side for their support in promoting the Spanish language in Azerbaijan,” the PA department head emphasized.
