On April 29, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, Valeria Csukasi.
According to the information provided to elchi by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the current state and development prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Uruguay were discussed during the meeting. The parties emphasized the importance of deepening political dialogue, intensifying mutual visits, and strengthening institutional cooperation.
Noting with satisfaction the agreement on cooperation between diplomatic academies, the possibilities of personnel training, exchange of experience, and implementation of joint training programs were reviewed. In addition, possible steps towards the liberalization of the visa regime were discussed with the aim of facilitating mutual visits of citizens.
The parties emphasized the importance of the visit of the delegation led by the First Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Uruguay last year in terms of its positive contribution to the development of trade and economic relations, and noted the importance of the continuity of such contacts.
An exchange of views on cooperation within the framework of international organizations also took place at the meeting.
On the same day, the next round of political consultations between Azerbaijan and Uruguay was held. The consultations were led by Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov on the Azerbaijani side and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valeria Csukasi on the Uruguayan side.
