Teacher shot at “Idrak” Lyceum resigns

New information has been released regarding the teacher who was injured during a shooting incident that occurred some time ago at the “Idrak” Lyceum.

elchi reports, citing Modern.az, that Shahla Kamilova, the teacher injured during the incident, has left her job.

According to allegations, it is planned for the student to be sent to London by his family to continue his education once the investigation is concluded.

It should be noted that according to other information released recently, it was reported that the teacher has forgiven the student who committed the act. An official document confirming the reconciliation has been submitted to the investigative body. For this reason, the student is expected to be released.

As a reminder, the incident took place on February 6. Ali Shirinov, a 10th-grade student at the “Idrak” Lyceum, came to school with a hunting rifle belonging to his father and opened fire on teacher Shahla Kamilova. The teacher, who sustained gunshot wounds, was hospitalized in critical condition. Doctors removed 16 pellets from the teacher’s neck area.

The student who committed the act was detained, and a preventive measure of 4 months of imprisonment was chosen for him.

A criminal case has been opened regarding the incident at the Binagadi District Prosecutor’s Office under the relevant article of the Criminal Code.
