Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev has visited Morocco

A delegation led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev is on a business trip to Rabat at the invitation of his Moroccan counterpart, Hicham El Blaoui.

According to the information provided to elchi by the Press Service of the Prosecutor General’s Office, within the framework of the visit, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev visited the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Kingdom of Morocco and paid tribute to the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. During the meeting with the embassy staff, he exchanged views on strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

At the meeting held at the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Kingdom of Morocco, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev noted that the Kingdom of Morocco is a friendly country for Azerbaijan and has consistently demonstrated a position of solidarity with our country on international platforms. Especially in recent years, mutual relations between our countries have deepened further as a result of the visionary policy and efforts of the heads of state, President Ilham Aliyev and His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

Hicham El Blaoui expressed his satisfaction with the development of inter-institutional partnership relations. Providing information about the activities of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Kingdom of Morocco, the host noted that they are aware of the increased efficiency of activities as a result of the fundamental reforms and new institutions implemented in the Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan in recent years. He stated that our country’s experience, especially the work done regarding the electronization of the activities of prosecution authorities and the digitalization of criminal prosecution, is of particular interest to them, and they wish to carry out an exchange of experience.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on practical cooperation in the fight against various forms of crime, including the investigation of transnational crimes and financial crimes, extradition, and mutual legal assistance in criminal cases, as well as prospects for expanding legal and institutional cooperation within bilateral and international platforms, and the organization of mutual training visits and exchange of experience.

Afterward, the delegation became acquainted with the activities of the Moroccan Prosecutor’s Office. During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the future signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the institutions, and an agreement was reached.

Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Morocco, Nazim Samadov, also participated in the meeting.

The delegation’s visit continues, and meetings with the heads of other government agencies are also planned.
