New 21-point rules for weddings established – LIST

In Turkey’s Şırnak province, the Qoyan tribe has decided to reduce wedding expenses.

elchi reports that a new set of 21 rules regarding weddings was established at a meeting attended by the tribe’s elders, mayors, mukhtars, and youth.

According to the new rules, the gold to be worn by the bride must be a maximum of 70 grams, the engagement and “yes” ceremonies must be held on the same day, and the wedding should last only one day. Furthermore, expensive stage setups, photoshoots outside the district, beauty services, and long car convoys have been prohibited. It is also required that wedding and engagement attire be purchased from local vendors.

At the same time, limits have been set for services: a maximum of 40 thousand lira for the orchestra, 30 thousand for video recording, and 5 thousand lira for barber and makeup services.

According to the tribe representatives, as a result of these changes, wedding expenses that previously reached 2 million lira will now drop to approximately 500 thousand lira.

A social mechanism has also been planned in the region, where those who do not comply with the rules, which are welcomed by the youth, will not have their weddings attended.

It should be noted that the tribal system is mainly based on kinship and traditional ties, and it imposes certain rules on the lives of its members, including important ceremonies such as marriage. Tribal weddings are usually known as large-scale events attended by numerous guests and accompanied by high expenses. This is precisely why such initiatives have been attracting attention in recent years in terms of optimizing costs and reducing social burden..yenisabah
