MIA: Be careful with attractive advertisements on social networks – VIDEO

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a warning to citizens regarding advertisements on social networks.

“Elchi” reports that this was stated by the MIA.

It is noted that it is possible to frequently encounter attractive advertisements on social networks and various online platforms such as “brand products sold at very low prices”: “At first glance, these offers seem extremely profitable and attractive. The Ministry of Internal Affairs warns citizens that such advertisements are mostly aimed at gaining trust by using the names of famous brands. Products are presented well below the real market price, and a sense of urgency is created in people with phrases like ‘last chance’ or ‘limited quantity’, inducing them to make impulsive decisions. The main purpose of such cases is to seize citizens’ personal data, especially bank card information.”

The MIA recommends that citizens follow the safety rules below:

Do not click on suspicious links

Carefully check the address and reliability of the site

Make purchases only on reliable and well-known platforms

Do not be deceived by advertisements and campaigns that create emotional pressure

It is noted that if you encounter such cases, it is important not to react to those advertisements: “If any information has already been entered or a suspicious transaction has occurred, inform the bank you are a customer of and law enforcement agencies without wasting time. Remember, being careful on online platforms is the most reliable way to protect the funds in your account.”
