Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides has announced that the country will sign an agreement in June allowing French military personnel to be present on the island for humanitarian purposes.
“Elchi” reports that he added the agreement will be concluded at the ministerial level.
“The agreement will ensure the presence of French troops on Cypriot territory for humanitarian purposes,” said Christodoulides, noting that this is part of broader efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation.
According to him, the agreement is also in line with broader European initiatives, including the SAFE program, which will provide 1.2 billion euros to Cyprus.
