A meeting was held at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population with Mariana Kujundzic, Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Azerbaijan.

It was stated that the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Anar Aliyev, highlighted the social reforms carried out in our country in recent years and the increases in social payments. He provided information on the achievements in the application of digital solutions in the fields of labor, employment, and social protection, the increase in transparency and accessibility, and the advantages of the DOST model.
Important steps taken in the implementation of active employment programs, the improvement of labor legislation, and its alignment with international standards were highlighted. Recent changes made to labor legislation to ensure fuller gender equality were noted, as well as the fact that our country has been accepted as a member of the International Equal Pay Coalition.
During the meeting, the importance of projects jointly implemented with the EU in the fields of social protection, medical-social rehabilitation, insurance-pension, and employment over the past period was discussed. The Ministry’s experience of active cooperation with the European Training Foundation was noted.
Mariana Kujundzic expressed her positive opinion regarding the social reforms being carried out in our country. She noted the importance of this meeting in terms of exchanging views on continuing cooperation and implementing new joint projects.
Future cooperation opportunities in the fields of labor, employment, and social protection were discussed at the meeting.
