In January-March of this year, Azerbaijan imported 12,299 tons of meat.
“Elchi” reports with reference to the State Customs Committee that the value of this volume of meat amounted to 28 million 630 thousand US dollars.
Compared to the same period last year, this is an increase of 410 tons (3.4%) in terms of volume and 3 million 805 thousand dollars (15.3%) in terms of value.
During the reporting period, the cost of meat imports accounted for 0.7% of Azerbaijan’s total import expenses.
Within 3 months, Azerbaijan conducted trade operations with foreign countries worth 9 billion 407 million US dollars. This is 21.9% less compared to the same period last year.
Of the foreign trade turnover, 5 billion 402 million US dollars accounted for exports, and 4 billion 5 million US dollars for imports. Over the last year, exports decreased by 15.4%, and imports decreased by 29.3%.
As a result, a positive balance of 1 billion 398 million dollars was formed in foreign trade. This is 93.4% more compared to the annual comparison.
