Those who engage in begging will be fined and face administrative detention.
elchi reports that this is reflected in the new Article 523-1 proposed to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which was discussed at today’s session of the Milli Majlis.
According to the draft, engaging in begging will result in a warning or a fine of one hundred to two hundred manats, or, taking into account the circumstances of the case and the personality of the offender, if these measures are considered insufficient, administrative detention for up to ten days will be applied.
Involving a minor in begging will result in a fine of two hundred to five hundred manats, or, taking into account the circumstances of the case and the personality of the offender, if these measures are considered insufficient, administrative detention for up to fifteen days will be applied.
After the discussions, the draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the third reading.
