Parents and teachers who use physical violence against a child for educational purposes will be fined up to 200 manats.
elchi reports that this is reflected in the new Article 525-1 proposed to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which was discussed at today’s session of the Milli Majlis.
According to the draft, parents (or their substitutes), as well as employees of educational, medical, social service, sports, cultural, recreational, and penitentiary institutions responsible for supervising children, will be fined two hundred manats for the use of corporal punishment against a child, that is, for committing physical and/or psychological violence against a child for educational purposes or as a disciplinary measure.
This will be applied provided that the act does not entail criminal liability under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code.
After the discussions, the draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the third reading.
