Today, at approximately 20:20, a passenger fell onto the tracks at the “28 May” station.
This was reported to “Elchi” by “Baku Metropolitan” CJSC.
It was stated that the high voltage was immediately cut from the contact rail, and emergency medical services were called to the scene.
According to preliminary information, despite the efforts of the doctors, it was not possible to save the passenger’s life.
After the high voltage was restored, the train was dispatched without passengers and sent from the “Narimanov” station to the electric depot.
Due to the incident, additional delays occurred beyond the regular interval.
It should be noted that earlier in the afternoon, temporary restrictions were applied to the entry of passengers at all stations of “Baku Metropolitan” CJSC. The reason for this was a malfunction in the supply of high voltage to the contact rail on the “Gara Garayev–Narimanov” section. For safety reasons, passengers were evacuated at the “Ulduz” and “Narimanov” stations. It was previously reported that 2 people were taken to the hospital and 9 passengers received on-site assistance in connection with the incident in the Baku metro.
