Based on the decision of our head of state, the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance was merged with the State Agency for Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation under the ministry. The purpose of this decree is to continue, deepen, and strengthen the reforms initiated in the field of compulsory medical insurance.
“Elchi” reports that the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Anar Aliyev, stated this in an interview with APA and the ARB24 television channel.
He noted that currently, within the framework of the implementation of the head of state’s decree, special handover commissions have been established at the ministry in two directions:
“The first commission ensures the merger process of the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance and the State Agency for Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation. The second commission ensures the transfer of rehabilitation institutions under the State Agency for Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation to the Social Services Agency. In general, a very extensive healthcare system operates in our country. This is implemented by the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance, the Ministry of Health, and TABIB. As the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, we will also provide our support to this process. Of course, there are a number of tasks before us. Within the framework of the implementation of these tasks, we aim to better and more qualitatively meet the population’s need for medical services, increase the coverage of programs implemented within the framework of compulsory medical insurance, and improve their quality. We believe that the steps we will take in this direction will be effective.
Currently, our main goal is to achieve full digitalization of the system. Providing serious support to the standardization process in order to improve the quality of medical services provided is the further expansion of this process. As a result of the measures implemented through the joint activities of the government, increasing accessibility, quality, and the number of services provided are among our main goals.”
