NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will visit Turkey on April 21-22 to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, but will refrain from interacting with journalists.
“Elchi” reports that the NATO press service has released information regarding this.
“On April 21-22, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will visit Ankara. He will meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense, and will also visit a military-industrial facility. No press statements are planned,” the press service stated.
While the lack of press contact during visits by foreign leaders to NATO headquarters in Brussels is common, such a situation occurring during the Secretary General’s foreign visits is quite rare.
